An Anatomy of the Soul

For the next eight weeks we are going to be in the book of Psalms. We are calling this series in the Psalms, “An Anatomy of the Soul.” That title is taken from John Calvin who called the Psalms “an anatomy of every part of the soul.” In this book, every experience, every emotion, all the heights and depths, all the joys and sorrows, all the mysteries of human life are dealt with.

Each week in this series, we will look at a different Psalm and focus in on one dominant experience or emotion of the psalmist (delight, courage, blessed, downcast, envy, forsaken, satisfied, praise). By delving into the dynamics of the soul, we will discover new dimensions of God’s faithfulness to us in Christ.
